While the Syrian National Army’s “Operation Dawn of Freedom” successfully liberated Tel Rıfat and Münbiç, the final blow to the PKK/YPG tyranny came in the form of reclaiming Deyrizor in eastern Syria, near the Iraqi border.
As the Syrian conflict escalated on November 27th, armed groups opposing the regime clashed with Bashar al-Assad’s forces, gaining control over major cities like Aleppo, Idlib, Hama, and Homs between November 30th and December 7th. The regime’s grip on power crumbled as these groups, supported by the masses, made their way to Damascus, prompting Assad to flee the capital and abandon his 61-year reign.
