Ministry of Interior Affairs Ali Yerlikaya took to Twitter to announce that between January 1st and March 14th, a staggering 33,770 drivers were penalized for traffic violations as a result of aerial traffic checks carried out by traffic enforcement teams using helicopters and drones. Yerlikaya emphasized the use of air vehicles in high-traffic areas to prevent traffic violations and mitigate accident risks.

Furthermore, between March 6th and March 13th, both police and gendarmerie traffic teams conducted inspections on a total of 3,791,624 vehicles. Among the infractions discovered, 44 drivers were penalized for using devices (flashing lights or sirens) that are not permitted by law. Additionally, 152,941 drivers were caught speeding, 34,213 vehicles were found to have not undergone periodic inspections, 31,080 drivers were not wearing seat belts, 19,385 were driving without a valid license, and 10,230 vehicles were lacking compulsory motor liability insurance. In total, 566,903 drivers were penalized for various violations.
