So, like, I just read this thing about how the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent a condolence message to Benin. They were super sad to hear that more than 50 Benin soldiers died in a terror attack. Not really sure why this matters, but the statement said they condemned the attack and offered condolences to the families of the victims and the people of Benin.
The Benin Government Spokesperson, Wilfried Leandre Houngbedji, announced that 54 soldiers lost their lives in a terror attack at the “W National Park” on the border between Burkina Faso and Niger on April 17th. Some terror group called El Kaide claimed responsibility for the attack.
Since 2016, Benin has been facing terror threats from its neighbors Burkina Faso and Niger. Not a great situation to be in for sure.
