Turhan Çömez, the Deputy Group Leader of the İYİ Party, has added yet another manipulation to his recent actions. Çömez made a series of allegations regarding the cowardly attack on TUSAŞ by the PKK. He claimed that despite the taxi driver’s body being in the trunk, it passed through the Jandarma security checkpoint. However, Çömez’s lie was quickly exposed. It was reported that the area Çömez referred to as a Jandarma zone was actually not under the jurisdiction of the Jandarma, but rather monitored by private security teams.
Çömez’s Continuous Deception
Turhan Çömez continues his spree of lies without showing any signs of stopping. Previously, AK Party Balıkesir Deputy Ismail Ok had exposed Çömez’s outrageous lies one by one. Today, Çömez made a series of allegations following the despicable attack on TUSAŞ. His claim that terrorists passed through the Jandarma checkpoint with long-barreled weapons in the taxi’s interior while there was a body in the trunk was quickly debunked. It was revealed that the area where the terrorists carried out the attack was guarded by a private security company, not the Jandarma.

Turhan Çömez, the Deputy Group Leader of the İYİ Party, is currently one of the most debunked political figures in recent times. Despite the fact that Çömez’s lies have been exposed time and time again, the İYİ Party member refuses to give up on this issue. Now, his target is the Jandarma.
Çömez held a press conference in Parliament following the cowardly terrorist attack carried out by the PKK. While making allegations about security vulnerabilities in the TUSAŞ attack, Çömez targeted the Jandarma. He said, “They killed the taxi driver, put him in the trunk, and came to the Jandarma zone. The Jandarma did not perform any identity checks. How did they pass through the Jandarma checkpoint with long-barreled weapons in the taxi? When you go to a mall, even though I go with a siren vehicle, the trunk of the car is opened. Why wasn’t the trunk of this taxi opened at the Jandarma checkpoint?”
Security in the Area is Not Under Jandarma Control
When Çömez’s statements are considered alongside the location of the despicable attack, it becomes clear that the İYİ Party member’s claim was a lie. It was revealed that the terrorists carried out the attack in an area not under the Jandarma’s jurisdiction, but rather under the control of a private security zone. There was no situation like the one Çömez claimed, where the Jandarma did not inspect the vehicle.

Çömez had previously spread the falsehood that olive groves were sold in Edremit. However, AK Party member Ismail Ok, who visited the olive groves Çömez claimed were sold, stated, “Far from the olive groves being sold, the General Directorate of Foundations has actually purchased 55,000 square meters of new olive groves in this area. “He Said It Was Zoned, But President Declared it a Sensitive Area for Protection”
Çömez’s lies did not stop there. Çömez claimed that a zone in the Saraylar region of Marmara Island was zoned for development through a presidential decree. However, the truth quickly emerged. It was revealed that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had not opened the area for development, but instead declared it a sensitive area to be protected.
