So, like, this whole thing called the “4th Agriculture and Forestry Council” just kicked off, you know? It’s happening in Ankara and will go on until April 30th. The Agriculture and Forestry Minister, Ibrahim Yumaklı, gave a speech at the event. He talked about the goal of using local seeds. Minister Yumaklı said, “Our council will bring a holistic perspective to problems with the common decisions that will come out of it. I want to emphasize that we have a clear and firm intention to implement the decisions made in the council. We need to plan for the future with a new perspective, not the usual methods. We are working to meet the need for high-quality seeds, seedlings, and saplings primarily from domestic sources and to encourage their use.”

Minister Yumaklı also had forest fires on his agenda. He said, “I want to express clearly that new methods and technologies are being used in the fight against fires, and leading countries have made significant progress in this regard.” He also mentioned a mobilization to prevent water waste. Yumaklı stated, “We did not see this issue as a mobilization. Like zero waste, we will continue to address this issue in Turkey and on the world agenda. Our policies that guide water will continue with irrigation investments.” President Erdogan will announce the decisions made in the council on May 14th.
