Sevda S., who continues to live in the house in the district of Ereğli, Zonguldak, where a eviction case was filed against her by her ex-husband T.A., was ruled against. Following the decision, bailiffs and police groups came to the residence to initiate the eviction process. Since Sevda S. did not open the door, the door was opened with the help of a locksmith and the eviction process was completed. Sevda S., who said she had nowhere to go, packed her belongings into bags and placed them in the attic and stairwells. She started living in the attic, putting a bed there to sleep at night, and meeting her special needs by going to her neighbors. Sevda S. narrated her experiences as follows: “We have been in a legal process for 6 years. We were divorced with false accusations. I didn’t even go and sign. I was divorced with false accusations and false witnesses. I was a victim of a false accusation. I lost my children, my home, my nest. I became homeless. Look at my despair. I lost my father. It’s been 16 years. No mother, no father. I lost my mother. She had a heart attack. It’s been a year and a half. My mother was taking care of me for 6 years. We were living together on my father’s pension. I didn’t get any compensation. I didn’t get alimony. I couldn’t have any rights. I have health problems. I was supposed to have heart surgery. I was thrown out of the door by force of execution, a lien was placed on my father’s land. Lawyer expenses were charged to me, I became a victim. I became homeless. Yes, I have relatives, I have a village, I have a circle of friends. It’s endless. I have so many relatives, so many friends. But there are no friends to think on a day like this. Being without a mother or father is something. You don’t want to be a burden to anyone. But they don’t take care of you either. Four muhtars didn’t take care of me.”
Sevda S., who said that the house was not given to her during the divorce process and that she still couldn’t accept this situation, said: “We bought this house together in the knowledge of marriage. We bought it together. But then when the divorce decision came, he said to me, you have to leave the house. But I didn’t divorce and sign anything. He brought it to this point with lies, with forgery. He slandered me, couldn’t prove it. There is no evidence, no proof in his hands. He victimized me. He played with my honor, my dignity. He looked in a woman’s face. Because of him, I got a penalty. I went through everything. All my psychology went away, I lost my children. I have three children. I put my belongings in trash bags on the roofs. In the stairwells. I also sleep here in the attic. Yes, I have relatives, I have a circle of friends but no one takes care of me. There is no support. They don’t even ask what will happen to us. Where are you, what are you doing?”
Due to her health condition, Sevda S. stated that she cannot work and cannot make a living. She only asked for a place to lay her head. Sevda S. said, “The solution is ‘go to the village.’ I already spent my childhood in the market. 25 years of marriage life. My order is my home, so I lost my home. I became homeless. I became a victim. I was supposed to go to surgery that day, I was supposed to have heart surgery, I was thrown out of the door by force of execution. Yes, I’m just saying I live in the attic. I’m just trying to sustain myself here on my own. I go to my friends. I don’t know what to do on my own to meet my special needs. I’m already psychologically destroyed.”
Sevda S., who talked about her illnesses, said, “4,000, 3,700 or 4,000. We take with three sisters. They are also victims. They are also renting. I have health problems. I have four masses in my kidney. I will have heart surgery in Bolu. I can receive treatment in Düzce. I can prove these. I can’t work. I can’t work because of health problems. I became a victim. I became a victim in every way. I’m already psychologically destroyed. What can I do? Where can I go? I don’t have children. My children became enemies. I don’t have children. I can’t say anything that’s not worth mentioning about the little ones. I call them dependent on them. They are studying. But as a mother, you want support from your children no matter what.”
Sevda S., in her final words, emphasized that she only seeks humanitarian support, not financial assistance: “I don’t want this to be turned into money, like rent support or something, there is no such thing as money. I just ask for help for the sake of Allah. I don’t care about finding a house, as I said, when you can’t pay the rent, there is no house. There is no house. You’re homeless. You have nowhere to go. You just want a place, even a small one, a house to lay yourself. And that’s it.”
