New Year’s Eve Public Transportation Arrangements in Izmir: Special Services and Schedules

The İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, ESHOT, İZDENİZ, Metro, İZBAN, and tram lines have organized special services for New Year’s Eve. Here are the details of public transportation on New Year’s Eve!

Key Details

– The İzmir Metro will run its services all night long on New Year’s Eve. From 1:00 am to 5:00 am, metro services will be available hourly. Regular fare schedules will resume in the early morning hours.

– Extra services will also be available on the Konak and Karşıyaka tram lines on New Year’s Eve. The Konak Tramway will operate every 20 minutes between 1:00 am and 5:00 am. As for the Karşıyaka and Çiğli tram lines, service frequencies will vary between 12 to 15 minutes from the early morning hours onwards.

– İZDENİZ ships and ferries will provide extra services on New Year’s Eve. The Baykuş schedule will be in effect on the night of December 31, transitioning to the weekend schedule in the morning. Passenger ships will commence their first services at 7:20 am, while ferries will start at 11:00 am.

– Special train services will be arranged for İZBAN users on New Year’s Eve. Trains will operate throughout the night to important stops like Aliağa, Cumaovası, Tepeköy, and Menemen, with the last services taking place at 3:55 am. Additionally, it has been announced that İZBAN will offer free services on January 1, 2025.

Additional Services

– ESHOT and İZULAŞ have organized additional services on 62 routes for New Year’s Eve. The Baykuş services, especially on busy routes, will continue throughout the night. This arrangement aims to facilitate transportation for İzmir residents attending New Year’s celebrations.
