FETÖ Targets in Operation KISKAÇ-29
In a coordinated effort led by the Cumhuriyet Başsavcılıkları, the Istanbul Police Department’s Counterterrorism Unit conducted a series of operations targeting the FETÖ terrorist organization in Istanbul, Bursa, and Manisa. The operation, dubbed “KISKAÇ-29,” resulted in the arrest of 15 suspects who were allegedly involved in various activities within the military structure of the organization.
During the operation, it was revealed that the suspects had engaged in actions and activities associated with the armed wing of FETÖ. They were found to have communicated with other members of the organization using payphones, stayed in FETÖ-owned properties, attended group meetings and discussions, and used the encrypted messaging app “Bylock,” which is known to be favored by FETÖ members. Additionally, it was discovered that some of the suspects had publicly praised the deceased leader of FETÖ on social media platforms following his passing.
Government Response and Support
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya took to social media to commend the efforts of the Cumhuriyet Başsavcılıkları and the dedicated police officers who carried out the operations. He expressed gratitude for their commitment to combating terrorism and ensuring the safety and security of the nation. Yerlikaya’s message of encouragement and appreciation underscored the government’s unwavering stance against terrorist organizations like FETÖ.
The successful operation was a testament to the collaborative efforts of law enforcement agencies and judicial authorities in identifying and apprehending individuals linked to FETÖ’s illegal activities. The government’s proactive approach in dismantling terrorist networks and disrupting their operations reflects a commitment to upholding the rule of law and protecting the interests of the Turkish people.
Challenges in Countering FETÖ
The arrest of the 15 suspects in Operation KISKAÇ-29 highlights the ongoing threat posed by FETÖ and its clandestine activities. The organization, known for its covert tactics and infiltration into various sectors of society, continues to undermine the stability and security of the country. The meticulous planning and execution of operations like KISKAÇ-29 are essential in thwarting FETÖ’s agenda and safeguarding the nation from internal threats.
Despite the government’s efforts to combat FETÖ, challenges persist in eradicating the organization’s influence and dismantling its network of supporters. The intricate web of connections and communication channels utilized by FETÖ members makes it difficult to track and apprehend all individuals involved in the organization’s illicit activities. Moreover, the organization’s continued efforts to evade detection and operate in secrecy pose significant challenges to law enforcement agencies.
In response to these challenges, the government has implemented stringent measures to counter FETÖ’s activities and prevent its members from further destabilizing the country. Through targeted operations and intelligence-gathering initiatives, authorities aim to disrupt FETÖ’s operations and dismantle its infrastructure, thereby weakening the organization’s capabilities and reducing its ability to carry out harmful activities.
In conclusion, Operation KISKAÇ-29 represents a significant step in the ongoing fight against FETÖ and its criminal activities. The coordinated efforts of law enforcement agencies and judicial authorities demonstrate a commitment to upholding the rule of law and preserving the security of the nation. By targeting individuals involved in FETÖ’s illegal activities and disrupting the organization’s operations, the government aims to safeguard the interests of the Turkish people and protect the country from internal threats.
