Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that a total of 46 suspects were apprehended in November by the Gendarmerie in operations targeting six different organized crime groups. Minister Yerlikaya took to social media to share the details of the successful operations conducted throughout the month.

In Istanbul, the leader of the group Kuyu-47 was identified as R.B., while in Samsun, N.B. led Kuyu-48, and in Giresun, R.N. was at the helm of Kuyu-49. Additionally, in Antalya, three separate groups led by Ü.K., H.B., and M.H. under Kuyu-50 were targeted. The Gendarmerie’s efforts resulted in the apprehension of 46 suspects associated with these criminal organizations, with 29 of them being arrested, 15 placed under judicial supervision, and the remaining 2 undergoing further legal proceedings.

Minister Yerlikaya emphasized the government’s unwavering commitment to combating organized crime and ensuring that these groups are held accountable for their actions. He stated, “Organized crime groups can no longer operate with impunity. We continue our fight against crime with determination and resolve, denying any opportunity for those who flaunt the law and consider themselves above it.”

The coordinated efforts of the Public Prosecutors’ Offices and the Gendarmerie General Command’s Intelligence Branch led to the successful operations in four different provinces: Istanbul, Samsun, Giresun, and Antalya. The suspects associated with these criminal organizations were investigated for various crimes such as forming criminal organizations, aggravated robbery, attempted murder, assault, threats, extortion, endangering public safety, property damage, deprivation of liberty, usury, human trafficking, and violations of the Law No. 6136.

During the operations, illegal firearms, numerous sharp objects, various quantities of drugs, as well as significant amounts of foreign currency and Turkish Lira were seized. Minister Yerlikaya reiterated the government’s commitment to maintaining peace and security by tirelessly combating organized crime year-round, day and night, without discrimination based on location or time.
