President Erdogan: Social Media Ataturkists are Hostile to Turkey

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made remarks during the Commemoration Ceremony organized by the Ataturk Culture, Language, and History Institution on the occasion of the 86th Anniversary of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk’s Passing into Eternity. President Erdogan stated, “Ataturkists on social media are hostile to Turkey. Those who exploit Ataturk have recently gone so far as to walk hand in hand with terrorist organizations and their extensions. We leave this rabid group, who serve the treacherous ambitions of imperialists over our country under the guise of Ataturkism, to the judgment of our nation.”

President Erdogan commemorated the founder of our Republic, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, on the 86th anniversary of his passing into eternity. He expressed his respect for the martyrs, veterans, and heroes who have sacrificed their lives for this land to be our homeland since the Battle of Malazgirt.

### Social Media Ataturkists are Hostile to Turkey

President Erdogan emphasized that any action aimed at undermining the unity and solidarity of this nation is a betrayal to Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of the Republic. Turkey has suffered greatly from closet Ataturkists in the past. Social media Ataturkists are hostile to Turkey. In recent times, those who exploit Ataturk have gone so far as to walk hand in hand with terrorist organizations and their extensions. We leave this rabid group, who serve the treacherous ambitions of imperialists over our country under the guise of Ataturkism, to the judgment of our nation. Disregarding Ataturk entirely will not shake the place he holds in our hearts. Discussing what Ataturk did or did not do in a conscientious manner is the work of expert scholars.

President Erdogan highlighted that the most concrete expression of preserving the Republic and the memory of Ataturk is the services and achievements one brings to this country. If Ataturk had lived and been healthy for another 10 years to govern the country, undoubtedly we would have seen a completely different Turkey after the Second World War. Unfortunately, we missed this opportunity with Ataturk’s passing. Along this sacred path, obstacles may arise, traps may be set. Throughout our Republic’s history, our nation has fought against various plots serving the same purpose. We have faced terrorist organizations being unleashed upon us, coup attempts, and countless threats. With the help of Allah and the strong support of our nation, we have overcome them all. You, the people, know best whose contributions we live by, and whose place has been left to gather dust.

President Erdogan’s remarks shed light on the ongoing struggle against those who misuse Ataturk’s legacy for nefarious purposes. It is essential for the nation to remain vigilant and united in the face of such divisive forces. Ataturk’s vision and principles must be upheld with integrity and sincerity to ensure the continued progress and prosperity of Turkey.
