Turkish Forces Achieve Major Success in Cudi Mountain Operation Against PKK Terrorist Organization
Turkish security forces have dealt a heavy blow to the PKK terrorist organization in the Cudi Mountain region, destroying 55 caves, shelters, and hideouts used by the terrorists for storing weapons, ammunition, and explosives. The success of the “GÜRZ-18” operations, aimed at eliminating the materials hidden by members of the separatist terrorist organization (PKK) to carry out attacks, marks a significant victory in the fight against terrorism.
Coordinated by the Gendarmerie General Command TEM Department and Intelligence Directorate, the operations were meticulously planned following thorough intelligence work conducted by the Şırnak Provincial Gendarmerie Command.

During the operations in the Cudi Mountain region, a total of 55 caves, shelters, and accommodation areas belonging to the terrorist organization were destroyed. The operations also led to the seizure of 10 M79 Heat-Guided Anti-Tank Missile Ammunition, known for their effectiveness against aerial and armored vehicles.

Among the weapons and ammunition seized were 17 machine guns, 1 12.7 mm anti-aircraft gun, 2 RPG-7 rocket launchers, 1 Zagros Sniper Rifle, 1 Dragunov sniper rifle, 1 AK-47 assault rifle, 5 TM 62 M anti-tank mines, 123 rocket launcher ammunition, 600 anti-aircraft ammunition, 3,600 7.62 mm PKMS machine gun ammunition, 5,700 light weapon ammunition, 8 81 mm mortar ammunition, 500-meter fuse, and various materials used in constructing improvised explosive devices.
