Van’s missing university student, Rojin Kabaiş, who had been searched for a week, was found with her phone sent to the criminal police due to a high-level code. It was reported that the friends staying with Rojin at Seyyid Fehim Arvasi Dormitory and 38 relatives and neighbors in Diyarbakır had their statements taken, both written and verbal.
Rojin Kabaiş, a first-year student in the Department of Child Development at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University (YYÜ), went missing on the evening of September 27 after having dinner at the dormitory where she stayed. Her friends, unable to reach Rojin Kabaiş by phone, notified the police around 12:00 on September 28.
PHONE, EARPHONES, CAKE, AND WATER FOUND
It was determined that Kabaiş had said she would go to the Van Lake Shore to collect pebbles around 18:30 on September 27, and her friend who was invited to go together had responded negatively. On September 28, Rojin’s cell phone, earphones, cake, and water were found on the Van Lake Shore. The phone was handed over to the police for examination.
Rojin had told her mother over the phone that she would go to the market to buy coffee, water, and cake. The police, Coast Guard, AFAD, and the fire brigade teams of the Metropolitan Municipality started search operations for Rojin.

In addition to the volunteer search and rescue teams, the police are also providing aerial support. The side-scan sonar device sent from the Çanakkale Provincial Security Directorate and the gendarmerie’s surface radar device are being used in the search operations.
