As a result of the incident, the teacher was given a report of assault and the parent along with their sibling were taken into custody. The altercation between a parent and a teacher was captured by the security camera at Hediye Alay Aktaş Kindergarten in Mazıdağı district of Mardin. Yesterday, according to allegations, the on-duty teacher Y.E. told a parent trying to enter the school through the main gate in the garden that she did not have the key and that they should enter through another door. This led to an argument between the parent who entered the school garden through the other door and the teacher, which escalated into a physical fight. The fight involving the parent’s sibling was eventually stopped by other teachers intervening. Police officers who were called to the school took the parent and their sibling into custody. The teacher was given a report of assault at Mazıdağı State Hospital. The fight in the school garden was recorded by the security camera. Abdulselam Demir, the President of the Education and Science Workers’ Union Mardin Branch, condemned all acts of violence against public employees in a statement made with union members in front of the school. Demir stated, “Measures must be taken to increase the dignity of educators, strengthen their position, and protect them from dangers. We will follow up on this heinous incident.”
