Özgür Özel Calls on Erdoğan: Don’t Make Bahçeli Your Spokesperson
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel made a strong statement against terrorism and violence during his speech at the Life Rights Rally held in Beşiktaş, Istanbul. Starting his speech by commemorating those who lost their lives in the recent TUSAŞ attack, Özel emphasized the importance of societal solidarity in the face of violence aimed at intimidating the public. Regarding the recent controversy sparked by Bahçeli’s remarks about Öcalan, Özel stated, “Erdoğan must clarify to the public. Bahçeli is the spokesperson for the secret agenda of the People’s Alliance. We will not be complicit in Bahçeli’s good cop, bad cop game.”
Özgür Özel’s speech, filled with messages of unity and determination in combating terrorism, was met with enthusiasm by the thousands in attendance at the Life Rights Rally. Addressing the crowd, Özel delivered the following messages:
“The aim of terrorism is to intimidate, silence, and subdue us. Salute to the brave hearts filling this square today. Welcome to those who do not remain silent against violence, who believe in freedom and peace. We are here to collectively challenge the terrorism attempting to jeopardize the future of this country.
-Let’s nationalize the hospitals involved in the Yenidoğan scandal. The main culprit is Erdoğan.
-70% of society indicates that drug use is increasing day by day.
-We stand against violence.
-We wake up one morning and witness the attack on TUSAŞ as if on live broadcasts. Those who cannot protect the nation betray the trust. We stand firmly against them.
-We will continue to fight against this government until this country becomes a safe place for women, lives, babies, for all of us. We will rescue this country once again.
-We have maintained the necessary will for achieving social peace in this country for years. We have advocated for the equality of people living in this country as written in the constitution.
-If the Kurds in this country say there is a problem, then there is a Kurdish issue. It is not the state but the people who decide if that issue exists. The People’s Alliance has once again evaded the issue by avoiding it in Parliament, by highlighting the actors that suit their agenda, by saying ‘I did it, it’s done.’
-Until the day someone says there is no Kurdish issue in this country, we will believe in the existence of the Kurdish problem.
-Whoever wants to talk to end terrorism can speak. But it is a wrong calculation to let one person speak and solve the problem. It is disgraceful to solve one person’s problem, to get what Tayyip Bey wants and to establish a constitution game through this exchange.
-We point to the Parliament for a solution. The state shows Abdullah Öcalan the Parliament as an address.
-Erdoğan must clarify to the public. Bahçeli is the spokesperson for the secret agenda of the People’s Alliance. We will not be complicit in Bahçeli’s good cop, bad cop game. CHP is the leading party in Turkey.
-Thank you to everyone who defies terrorism and advocates for the right to life. Together, we are Turkey.
-When will the right to hope for the people be discussed? They want Öcalan to come to Parliament and avoid discussing the people’s issue.
-Why is the right to hope only for Öcalan? Why do Can Atalay and Tayfun Kahraman not have the right to hope.”
