FETÖ Question Thieves: Latest Updates on Operation
In a coordinated operation, a total of 24 suspects were targeted in connection with the investigation into irregularities in the entrance exam for tax inspector assistantship in 2012 and the cheating scandal during the 2010 Public Personnel Selection Exam (KPSS). Among the suspects, one individual was identified as a suspect who claimed to be the accounting responsible of Konya province.
Details of the Operation
The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office Terrorism Crimes Investigation Bureau found that members of the FETÖ/PDY terrorist organization accessed the exam questions prior to the written exam, distributed them to their associates, and facilitated cheating. As a result, 21 suspects who were found to have obtained the exam questions, passed the exam using them, and facilitated their distribution were ordered to be simultaneously detained in 7 provinces centered around Ankara.
Furthermore, in the investigation into irregularities during the 2010 KPSS, 3 suspects were targeted. One suspect was identified as a Bylock user and allegedly held the position of accounting responsible in Konya, while the other two were found to have stayed in KPSS study houses and used the Bylock messaging program for secret communication within the organization. These three suspects were ordered to be simultaneously detained in 2 provinces centered around Ankara.
