The president announced plans to deliver a total of 201,688 independent units across 11 provinces, with 24,191 units in Gaziantep by the end of 2024. By the end of 2025, a total of 31,317 residential and commercial units will be delivered in Gaziantep, with 452,982 independent units across all earthquake-prone regions.

Building Strong Communities in the Face of Adversity

President Erdoğan emphasized the importance of standing firm like an unshakeable fortress beside the Turkish people in times of crisis. He highlighted the significance of constructing resilient and durable cities, not just for defense and economic purposes but also to elevate living standards and provide safe havens for earthquake victims. The president’s commitment to upgrading infrastructure, revitalizing the economy, and enhancing living standards in Gaziantep and other earthquake-affected areas showcases Turkey’s strength and political will.

A Critique of the Opposition

President Erdoğan criticized the opposition’s lack of vision and commitment to serving the nation, contrasting their empty promises with his government’s track record of delivering tangible results. He highlighted the ineptitude and shortsightedness of the opposition’s governance, pointing out their failures in managing basic services like public transportation and social security. The president’s remarks underscored the stark contrast between his administration’s proactive approach and the opposition’s reactive and ineffective leadership style.

Personal Touch and Emotional Connection

Amidst the official ceremonies, President Erdoğan visited a family of earthquake survivors, who shared their harrowing experience of losing two children in the disaster. Moved by their story, the president expressed his condolences and inquired about the mother’s well-being, learning that she had lost her left arm in the earthquake. Gaziantep Mayor Fatma Şahin assured President Erdoğan that they were arranging for a prosthetic arm for the mother. The emotional exchange between the president and the family, coupled with the children’s gratitude for receiving tablets as gifts, highlighted the human side of governance and the impact of government actions on individual lives.

As President Erdoğan departed from Gaziantep, he was greeted at the airport by a group of young children holding engineering tools and wearing hats, symbolizing their admiration for his leadership. The president graciously interacted with the children, accepting flowers and posing for photos, creating heartwarming moments that encapsulated the spirit of hope and unity in Gaziantep.

Through his visit to Gaziantep, President Erdoğan demonstrated a commitment to rebuilding communities, supporting families in need, and fostering a sense of national pride and resilience in the face of challenges. As the Turkish people look towards the future, they stand united with their president, ready to face whatever comes their way, standing strong like a fortress beside their nation.
