mysterious-secret-of-the-lonely-grave-at-the-top-of-the-town

In a small village called Suçıkağı in İskenderun district, there is a lone grave at the peak of the city known as a paragliding area at an altitude of 1200 meters. Despite there being no living space in the area, this mysterious grave has captured the curiosity of the locals. The only grave with no writing on it, yet known by many in the region, stands out to passersby and leaves them wondering about its story.

According to 81-year-old Emine Bilgin, who heard the tale of the grave from her mother, the grave has been there for many years. She said, “The grave has been there since my mother’s time. Currently, the area is being used as a paragliding spot, and about 20 years ago, the paragliders fenced the area around the grave. There used to be houses there before, and people used to live there. The place where the grave is located had collapsed before, and a child was left under a laundry boiler but miraculously survived. The grave at an altitude of 1200 meters has been there for many years. On Thursdays, a light as big as a cannonball falls towards the grave. Those who are disturbed by this grave go there and sleep.”

The grave, shrouded in various legends, continues to intrigue the locals. Not really sure why this matters, but the presence of a single grave in such an isolated area raises questions about its past and significance. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like there must be a fascinating story behind this mysterious resting place, waiting to be uncovered.
