FETÖ-linked Judge Mustafa Karatay Arrested for Involvement in Terrorist Organization
Former judge Mustafa Karatay, a key operative for the Gülenist Terror Group (FETÖ) within the judiciary, has been arrested for his involvement in the armed terrorist organization. The National Intelligence Organization (MİT) received a tip from a neighbor near the residence where Karatay was hiding. Following an extensive surveillance operation, it was confirmed that the fugitive former judge had been living in the reported apartment for the past 8 years. A joint operation conducted by MİT and Ankara Police resulted in the apprehension of Karatay in the bedroom of his house in Yenimahalle, where he had concealed himself among his clothes. Upon searching Karatay’s residence, authorities seized a laptop, tablet, phone, and other digital devices that he had been using to communicate with the top leadership of FETÖ. It was uncovered that Karatay had been in contact with the terrorist organization through the Signal application.
Judge Mustafa Karatay Faces Legal Consequences
Following his arrest, Karatay was taken to the Ankara Courthouse for further legal proceedings. After providing his statement to the prosecutor, Karatay was presented before a duty magistrate court with a request for his pretrial detention. The magistrate court decided to detain Karatay on charges of “membership in an armed terrorist organization.”
